Private Lessons

Alongside workshops, residencies, and performance programming, Rey Music & Arts offers private, one-on-one piano lessons for children and adults. Lessons are offered in Downtown Brooklyn, online, or in your home in Brooklyn or Manhattan. Rates are below. For anything not listed here, get in touch and we'll figure it out together.

  • Weekly lessons at my studio in Downtown Brooklyn. Most students take 30 or 45 minutes; longer lessons suit advanced students and exam preparation.

  • Lessons at your piano, in your home. 45-minute minimum.


    Studio rate plus a travel fee of $20 in Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn and Fort Greene, or $35 elsewhere in Brooklyn, subject to availability. One travel fee per visit, so siblings scheduled together pay it once.

  • Families enrolling two or more students receive $10 off per week, applied to the shorter lesson.

  • All students work toward the bi-annual recitals and may prepare for ABRSM examinations. Exam registration, preparation, and studio programming are coordinated by Rey Music & Arts. Students not enrolled with Rey Music & Arts may participate by special arrangement.

  • Your rates are set when you enroll and stay the same for as long as you remain enrolled from semester to semester — including if you later change lesson length or format. Students returning after a break of a semester or more enroll at current rates. Rates listed are for the 2026–27 school year.

Our Team

Angela Rey (Founder & Artistic Director) is a pianist, percussionist, teacher, and cultural producer based in Brooklyn. She began piano at four and trained classically under Alla Gladysheva of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, later earning her degree in Global Jazz Studies from UCLA. She has taught privately for fourteen years and holds an Educational Partnership with Steinway & Sons, preparing students for ABRSM examinations, recitals, and auditions. As a percussionist she performs and conducts with Mambembé NYC and performs with Grupo Ribeiro and Maracatu Baque, working in samba reggae, maracatu, and Afro-Brazilian traditions from Bahia. She produces Afro-Brazilian arts programming in New York, and is a member of the New York State Music Teachers Association.

Analise Levesque (Piano & Voice Instructor) is a pianist, composer, teacher, and music director based in NYC. She made her Broadway debut subbing Keys 2 in Mamma Mia last fall. She was a sub conductor for the Argyle Theater’s Prince of Egypt and the new off-Broadway show Forest High and the Glitch in the System at The Players Theater. She works as a music director and accompanist at Pace University, and frequently performs at The Green Room 42 and 54 Below. Most recently, she was a section Music Director/arranger for the Papermill Playhouse’s Summer Conservatory program and New Voices Concert.
